Cape Canaveral, Florida, January 2023 – Wood River Studio is a two-man furniture shop off North Atlantic AVE. in Cape Canaveral, FL. They build custom heirloom quality furniture and decor out of sustainably sourced exotic live edge slabs. They have a beautifully designed showroom with contemporary displays featuring the latest trends in home interiors. Their grand opening, in collaboration with the Regional Chamber of Commerce is February 2, 2023, from 3-6pm. The ribbon cutting is at 4pm. Please stop in and visit them. Wood River Studio is the creative brainchild of serial entrepreneur, artist, inventor, and master craftsman, Lenard Kensey and his apprentice, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Sean Kostelnik. They met early 2022 at Melbourne Makerspace in Melbourne, FL and grew intrigued by the other’s abilities. Not long after they began designing and building furniture which quickly grew into Wood River Studio as it is today. What started in a shared workspace the size of a garage now operates a state-of-the-art wood and metal shop and maintains a gallery style studio showroom.

All of their wood is sustainably sourced. They import the bulk of their materials from Costa Rica who has set the global standard for reversing deforestation with some of the strictest tree extraction laws in the world. They rescue trees from the landfill through local partnerships with tree removal companies. And they dredge and salvage driftwood found in local rivers and intercoastal waterways, like the Indian Lagoon. They then clean, mill, and sanitize the wood before creating furniture or art with it.

Wood River Studio is a new business backed by decades of experience and they represent the “microbrewery” of the furniture industry.
