The Makerspace achieves 501(c)(3) status

We are excited to announce that Melbourne Makerspace has officially been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) public charity on April 30th.

This designation is an important milestone in the growth of our organization. As a 501(c)(3) public charity, donations made to Melbourne Makerspace may now be tax-deductible for donors to the extent allowed by law. This recognition may also open the door to new grant opportunities, corporate sponsorships, matching gift programs, and other sources of funding that can help us expand our programs and services.

For our members and supporters, this means that every contribution can have an even greater impact on our mission. Additional funding opportunities will help us improve our facilities, acquire new equipment, offer educational programs, and continue building a creative community where people can learn, make, and share.

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of our members, volunteers, and donors who have supported Melbourne Makerspace from the beginning. We thank everyone who has helped us reach this important milestone and look forward to the opportunities it creates for the future. Together, we are building more than a workshop—we are building a community of makers, innovators, and lifelong learners.

Thank you for being part of the journey.
